The holidays have come and gone. Now it is time to live up to those New Year resolutions. Most of us want to save money, buy a house or shed those unwanted pounds. We all know that shedding those pounds can cause all kinds of stress. Most of us just don't have enough hours in the day. We have to cook, clean, take care the kids and sometimes the husband or wife. But what if you could ditch the gym and turn your desk into the ultimate workout center.
Jimmy Kimmel, host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Recently replaced his desk for a treadmill desk and lost 20 pounds. He said,
"I read somewhere that sitting all day can cut 15 or 20 years off your life," he explains. "It's worse than smoking. We weren't meant to sit this much."
He conducts business and walks the treadmill at the same time.
As many of you know, I work at a local TV station, WPLG Ch. 10.
We find every reason to have a potluck. Someone's birthday potluck, pregnant potluck, leaving to a different shift potluck, move to another desk potluck. Let's not talk about the unhealthy choices in the vending machine.Or the bowls of candy and the donuts that are put out on a daily bases. All these things can put weight on you just by looking at them.
Recently, we received the Treadmill Desk. At first we thought, great we're getting a gym! But, oh no Todd Tongen was up no good (as usual). Check out how he was able to shed his unwanted pounds.
