Before I decided to work in the crazy world of Television, I studied to become a Midwife. I loved the whole birth process from beginning to delivery. It is my belief that women should have control over where and how they want to give birth. Whether they choose a pain medicine or if they would like to deliver at home.

Dr. Bridgewater delivered my sisters' baby, to me he is one of the best OB/GYN. My sister started having contractions at 38 weeks and dilated 3 cm. Most doctors would have kept her and started her labor, but the doctor sent her home. He did not feel she was ready. She and her baby were healthy, her water had not broken and she did not want pain medication. He let nature take its course. Even when she made those trips to the hospital, he still sent her home. Finally, on her last trip, she had dilated 8 cm (too late for MEDs) and within 3 hours she was ready to push. No Pitocin, No MEDs. He even coached her on the process of pushing. Take a listen to his speech, has he welcomed my nephew into the world.
My family welcomed our Prince Charming into the world. After 38 weeks of appointments, three weeks of contraction, three trips to the hospital and the aches and pains that come with pregnancy. Baby Ayden decided he wanted to join us two weeks before his due date. My nephew is a lucky child, he was born on 7/7 at 12:38 a.m. and he weighted 7 lbs 11.5 oz.

The world is watching and waiting for The Duchess of Cambridge to deliver her royal bundle of joy. The media outlets are camped in front of the hospital to await the news that Kate Middleton has given birth. Well, that wait may be over as soon as today. After being almost two weeks past her due date, Kate is in early stages of labor. And we all know that babies will come when they are good and ready. I say leave her alone. Let mother nature take its course. She could in labor for hours. I hope she has a safe delivery and a healthy baby. Congrats!
