Fashion Designers Expo Kickoff Party
Monday, September 29, 2014This year's message brought awareness of Domestic Violence. Karine Melissa (CEO/Co-Founder), says "It's more than just another Fashion Week! It is about giving the emerging industry a secure platform... while using the power of the runway to bring awareness to issues impacting our communities."
Guest were able to network, mingle and get interviews and pictures with some of the emerging designers. Liz Szabo was there with her fabulous jewelry line and Agape Foods Inc. provided the tasty treats. I was honored to snag to interviews and meet a lot of new people.
Yerenny Espinoza (Yerenny's Dress Creations) - This 10 year old, Beauty Queen, started her own line of clothing because she couldn't find pageant dresses that fit her personality. With the help of her aunt, she designs pageant dresses for other young ladies. Check out her pageant stand. She will be coming for Miss America soon.
Risque Dukes Swim Apparel- A Miami native, she is a socialite and a Veteran of the United States Army. After completing her service in the army, she earned a Bachelor and Master Degree. She says, she has a passion for fashion and decided one out of the blue to create a swimsuit line. She also said that she buys the best material. Her swimwear line caters to all women. The model is wearing "Risque Red Binkin" from the Risque Collection. It also comes in black and white.
Painted Swagg- There is no shortage of paint, tulle and bling for this designer. Maria Aponte, created Painted Swagg, "to let kids around the world know it's ok to be themselves despite how the world views them." She started off by destroying her own clothes and stitching them up again. She is not only a designer, but a stylish as well.
