Black History | Women In Fashion

We cannot talk about Women In Fashion, without talking about the impact African American women have on the red carpet. These women shine on the big and small screens. Whether the roles they play are a Crisis Manager, Lawyer or the "Queen of Talk," these women definitely deserve to strut their stuff during Hollywood's biggest night.

Last night at the 87th Annual Academy Awards, these women graced the red carpet with their beauty, class and elegance. Even though there were no African American female nominees, these ladies are winners in my book. Here are some of my favorites looks for the Oscars 2015.

Oparah Winfrey | All hail the "Queen of Talk." She "OWN" the red carpet in this Vera Wang Collection gown, with her long time mate, Stedman Graham right by her side. Oprah was S-E-X-Y and had the twins on display for everyone to see.

Lupita Nyong'o | You can call last year's winner "Mother Pearl." She wowed everyone in this Calvin Klein gown, made with more than 6,000 pearls.... I know that dress was heavy. But, only she can get away with wearing this.

Viola Davis | The "How To Get Away With Murder" star looked elegant in this Zac Posen pink gown. The lips, hair even her statement piece, added just the right touch to her look.

Jennifer Hudson | Jhud give me the chills with her rendition of "I Can't Let Go" during the "In Memoriam." But, before that she walked the red carpet in a yellow Romona Keveza dress with Jimmy Choo shoes and handbag.

Kerry Washington | I know Gladiators everywhere were holding their breath to see what this "Scandal" star was wearing. In past awards shows, I have been a little disappointed in her choices. But, last night I loved her Miu Mui gown. The look was very classy.
