If Gingham is not in your closet for SS 2017 season, consider yourself to be checked out. Almost every season this pattern makes its way back to the runway, but this season we saw it in bold colors, accessories and ruffle tops. Gingham is a great pattern, however, if worn the wrong way it can leave you looking like you are the table cloth for the family picnic. Here are a few tips to help you pull off this trendy print.
Tips for wearing Gingham
1. I hate matchy gingham, I think it looks a lot better when you mix it with floral or polka dot print. If you do matchy add a color belt or shoes to break up the pattern.
2. If mixing prints is not your thing, stick with the same solid colors has the gingham pattern.
3. Add a graphic tee-shirt or leather jacket to give gingham a more modern and edgy feel.
4. Just keep it simple. For myself, I stay far away from red gingham. I'm bottom heavy and I refuse to look like that tablecloth.
